Our Pastoral Team
Lisa and David Barton
David and Lisa Barton are our Trailhead Church planters. They have been in ministry together longer than they have been married, which is a long time! Lisa and David have launched 4 children from their home as well as started a company that inspires people to gather around the table. David serves as our theological resident who challenges us to thoughtfully consider how life and faith interweave. Lisa continually inspires us in creative ways to show up for our neighbor as we seek justice together.
Kim Giles
Kim Giles joined the Trailhead community when it formed in 2018. In 2024 she joined the Pastoral Team after becoming a licensed ECC pastor. As a mom to two adoptive boys, she is constantly learning about God’s love and grace. Kim brings a passion for understanding scripture and a desire to understand our own stories within God’s much bigger story. Kim brings a compassionate presence to the journey of faith we are on together.

“One of the values I love the most about Trailhead that has impacted our family greatly is the concept of intergenerational worship. A couple Christmases ago, my daughter Linden and another elementary age kid in the the church asked Lisa if they could write and direct their own script for a Christmas pageant. What could possibly go wrong? But instead of politely letting them down, Lisa and other adults in our church rallied around the kids to create a truly beautiful and soulful Christmas pageant that involved kids and adults. These moments give our family so much connection to a faith community that connects with every person in the community, young and old.” -Adrian

“John and I came to Trailhead because of David. We have continued coming because of David, Kim and all the families who are a part of this church. Everyone is genuine, caring and welcoming to everyone who walks in the church doors.” - Ann
Annie Larner
“My favorite moment is an accumulation of moments where we have embraced the adventure. Like gathering for church in a backyard, accidentally singing a service a cappella, walking through serious illnesses with each other, wrestling honestly with long-held assumptions about faith, and the accidental spaces in between organized church where we actually grow in relationship with each other. Trailhead keeps it real and it’s not always pretty. But is what we all seem to feel called to.” -Annie

“One of the most inspiring parts of our journey at Trailhead has been discovering the power of true community. Moving to Longmont to be closer to our people was a big step for our family, and it’s only deepened our connection to this church and to the kind of life we’re called to live—one where we really know and love our neighbors.
We’ve been especially moved by the inter-generational nature of Trailhead. Our kids aren’t just attending church—they’re part of it. They’ve formed meaningful relationships not only with peers, but with adults who truly see and invest in them. Being surrounded by people who are both similar and different from us has shaped us in powerful ways, and we’re grateful to be part of a community where every generation has a seat at the table.” - Daniel
